The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 race weekend at Richmond International Raceway just got a little spicier with the announcement that Clint Bowyer's No. 2 ACDelco Chevrolet NASCAR Busch Series car will feature a Red Hot Chili Peppers Paint Scheme for the Emerson Radio 250 race on Friday, September 8 at America's Premier Short Track.
Bowyer, who is currently third in NASCAR Busch Series points, will be running double-duty "under the lights" for the Richmond International Raceway NASCAR doubleheader¿Friday night's Emerson Radio 250 NASCAR Busch Series race and Saturday night's Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race, which is the final race before The Chase.
In addition to being the race that sets the field for the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 is a unique collaboration among Chevrolet and Richmond International Raceway to unite pop and rock musicians with elite drivers in NASCAR while providing fun experiences for race fans throughout the weekend.
"This is the second year I've been part of the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 and it's just a really unique event," said Bowyer, who finished second in the NASCAR Busch Series championship last year. "It's neat that Chevrolet adds the rock and roll aspect to the race. I think it brings a lot to the table especially seeing all the cool paint schemes. I'm really looking forward to being a part of it."
Bowyer's Chevrolet is the second Monte Carlo SS that will feature a music themed paint scheme during the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 race weekend. The No. 29 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet driven by Kevin Harvick will showcase the Barenaked Ladies, who will perform during a pre-race concert on Saturday, September 9.
