Brian Tyler charged by Bobby East to take the lead on a restart and led the last 14 laps to win the USAC Silver Crown Series James River Grounds 100 this evening at Richmond International Raceway.

The race is a preliminary to the SunTrust Indy Challenge IndyCar Series race, which starts at 8:30 p.m. “under the lights” tonight on the ¾-mile oval.

Tyler of Parma, Mich., crossed the finish line in his Team Six Fatheadz Sunglasses Toyota nearly a second in front of East. Tyler lapped all but eight of his rivals. It was his second Silver Crown Series win at Richmond and his 15th career Silver Crown Series win.

Pole sitter East of Brownsburg, Ind., led the first 86 laps in his Klatt Enterprises/Club Sport Ford. East said a broken swaybar caused his car to have serious

handling problems late in the race.

Cameron Dodson of Greenfield, Ind., finished third;  Ryan Smith of Kunklettown, Pa., fourth and A.J. Fike of Galesburg, Ill., fifth.
