Victory Junction, The NASCAR Foundation and Richmond International Raceway CARES have teamed up for an online auction.

September 3, 2009—Fans now have an opportunity to bid on some unique and valuable NASCAR memorabilia, as Richmond International Raceway is hosting an online auction to benefit Victory Junction and Richmond International Raceway CARES through The NASCAR Foundation.  Items up for bid can be viewed by logging on to http://foundation.nascar.com/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=1167&srcid=204 or logging on to foundation.nascar.com, clicking on Programs/Events and selecting Online Auctions.

 

The auction will run through the NASCAR doubleheader weekend at Richmond International Raceway, September 11-12, and all items will be on display on the Midway near the Old Dominion Building.  The auction will close on Friday, September 18 at noon. Many NASCAR teams and tracks have enthusiastically donated to this charitable cause, with all proceeds benefiting Victory Junction and the track’s charitable account.

Tickets for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, September 12, are available now.  The race is known as “One Last Race to Make the Chase” because once the checkered flag drops, the field will be set for the 2009 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.  Only the drivers in the top 12 in the point standings will be eligible for the championship, meaning the drivers on the bubble will need strong finishes at America’s Premier Short Track.  Tickets start at $40 and can be purchased by logging on to www.rir.com or calling 866-455-RACE (7223).

 

The weekend begins on Friday, September 11, featuring the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race “under the lights.”  Friday’s ticket includes practice and Fas Mart Pole Qualifying for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, as well as practice and WRIC-TV8 Pole Qualifying for the Virginia 529 College Savings 250.  Tickets are $45 (reserved) and $35 (general admission) in advance.  Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult in general admission sections on Friday only.  For tickets and information, log on to www.rir.com or call 866-455-RACE (7223).
