Henrico County Police Athletic League Nabs $8,000 Through NASCAR Day Pin Donations
Henrico County PAL and The NASCAR Foundation appreciate our wonderful fans' donations!
After being designated Richmond International Raceway’s charitable recipient for NASCAR Day 2010, the Henrico County Police Athletic League (PAL) descended upon America’s Premier Short Track in full force during the April 30-May 1 NASCAR Doubleheader Weekend. The greatest fans in all of motorsports responded, donating $5 in exchange for commemorative NASCAR Day lapel pins, which resulted in $8,000 for Henrico County PAL.
Dozens of Henrico County police officers, board members and volunteers combined efforts to canvas the Richmond International Raceway property, offering the commemorative pins to more than 100,000 fans who visited America’s Premier Short track during the race weekend.
“We are so proud of the efforts from Henrico County Police Athletic League during our NASCAR weekend,” said track president Doug Fritz. “We truly appreciate the support from our fans who flexed their charitable muscle by donating to such a worthy cause.”
Funds raised through Richmond International Raceway’s NASCAR Day pin sales are split between Henrico County PAL and The NASCAR Foundation. The donations will be used to support many of the Henrico County PAL programs, including the after school program, summer camp, Johnny Newman Basketball Camp and youth leadership program.
