Top 10 Things To Know Before You Go
Race Fans - Thanks for choosing to spend the weekend with me and my staff at Richmond International Raceway for one of the most exciting race weekends of the entire NASCAR season. The stakes are high this weekend, as we host the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series—“One Last Race to Make the Chase”—as well as the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

Top 10 Things to Know Before you Go
| 1. Plan to arrive early on race day; we have the maps to guide your way! | ||
| Traffic and congestion around Richmond International Raceway continually builds during the day, so make sure you plan to get here early for fun and entertainment on the Midway and tailgating in the parking lots. | ||
| Please feel free to download or print the following maps and directions: | ||
| Driving Directions | Traffic Map | Travel Information | Grandstand Seating Chart | Property Map | ||
| 2. What you can bring and what you can’t bring. | ||
| Fans are allowed one soft-sided bag/cooler, no larger than 6 x 6 x 12 inches, and one additional clear plastic bag, no larger than 18 x 18 x 4 inches. Fans may continue to bring in their own food and beverages. Remember, all items will be inspected. Hard-sided coolers, glass containers, umbrellas, seats with arm rests and bags, backpacks or containers larger than the allowed size are prohibited. | ||
Review grandstand policies and detailed list of items allowed inside the gates.
| 3. Hungry? There are plenty of new-for-2009 food options on race weekend. | ||
We’re proud to offer an extensive upgrade to our race weekend food menus this season, including some unique new items, like the Richmond Raceway Dog and Crabcake Sandwich, and lower priced value meals like the Boss Dog Combo and Catfish Basket. You can locate all your favorite eats on the race weekend concessions map available below. Feel free to print the map and bring it with you on race weekend!
| 4. Get on Pit Road, and see drivers up close and personal in fan hospitality. | ||
With the Scotts Miracle-Gro Party Zone offer on Friday and Scotts Miracle-Gro Green Flag Zone offer on Saturday, fans get access to an exclusive hospitality area, which includes appearances by NASCAR drivers and personalities, as well as Pre-Race Pit Passes! Race weekend appearances include Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch, Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick and more!
5. Several unique opportunities await you at the track.
| Richmond International Raceway has some great events to compliment race weekend. On Thursday, the track is hosting a NASCAR Foundation Blood Drive with Virginia Blood Services. We recently kicked off an online auction of NASCAR memorabilia, with proceeds benefiting Victory Junction and Richmond International Raceway CARES through The NASCAR Foundation. On Saturday, the Richard Petty Driving Experience is bringing their NASCAR-style stock cars for Ride-Alongs, and you have the chance to walk around the ¾-mile oval with The NASCAR Foundation Track Walk. | ||
6. Good times and good tunes are on the way.
| In addition to the excitement and drama of "One Last Race To Make The Chase" fans will also be treated to a rock & roll concert by The All-American Rejects on the front stretch of the track on Saturday, September 12, at 5:45 p.m. Fans can watch from the grandstands, but passes to see the band up close on the track are available to those who participate in the Chevy Challenge in the Chevy Fan Fest on Saturday. Also, you won’t want to miss the pre-race National Anthem performance by the Virginia Army National Guard band prior to the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, as well as Richmond’s own April Lee, who will perform the National Anthem on Friday before the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 race. | ||

| 7. Experience the Midway! There’s so much to do and see. | ||

Don’t miss Martin Truex Jr, Bobby Labonte and track president Doug Fritz on the SPEED stage for MRN at Full SPEED on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. They will both participate in interview segments and field a few questions from fans.
| 8. Getting here is easier than ever with free shuttle service. |
| |
| Free shuttle service is available, on Saturday only, from two convenient locations—The Richmond Coliseum and the Mechanicsville Showplace. The shuttle service to and from the track is free, but parking fees do apply at each location. | ||

We encourage you to bring your 2009 Fan Guide, which you received with your tickets. Most of the information above can be found in the Fan Guide, along with additional foldout maps. The Fan Guide is a great resource to have on race weekend. If you have a question, the Fan Guide probably has the answer. Don’t forget it, and don’t forget to have a great time!
