What to Bring
Fans can bring their own food and beverages into the grandstands at Richmond International Raceway, so pack a cooler with your favorite drinks and snacks. Just remember, coolers must be soft-sided, can only measure up to 14 x 14 x 14 inches and may not have telescoping handles or wheels.
Fans may also utilize one lightweight backpack or day bag to bring in approved items. Each fan is allowed to carry in one cooler and one bag. Some helpful items to bring include:
Since there is so much to do and lots to see on race weekend at RIR, wear comfortable shoes to walk around in.
Fans may enter and exit the grandstand gates throughout the day, but remember it will take longer to enter the gates closer to the race start time. Click here for the complete list of grandstand policies, including approved and prohibited items.
Richmond International Raceway is conveniently located in Henrico County, just outside the city of Richmond, and is easily accessible from interstates 95, 295 and 64. Click here for race day directions and an area traffic map.
Parking in all of our lots is FREE ! The lots open at 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday of race weekend and free, continuous tram service from Lots H and Blue Ox Meadowbridge Unreserved RV Parking Lot J begins at 9 a.m. Be sure to note where you parked as you walk towards the track or tram pick-up locations.
Remember, Richmond International Raceway is a large facility and with over 100,000 fans, workers and race team members in the area on Saturday, traffic and congestion will continually build throughout the day. Plan to arrive early and spend the day with us! Tailgating, souvenir trailers and free displays in the Midway and the Miller Lite Party Zone in the Amphitheater Hill are just some of the things to check out before the green flag falls.
Richmond International Raceway also offers free shuttle service from the Richmond Coliseum. The Richmond Coliseum is located at North 7th Street in downtown Richmond (near the intersection of interstates 64 and 95) and parking is $6 per car. The shuttle service to and from the track is free. Click here for directions and more details about shuttle service.
While You Are Here
What better way to get ready for racing under the lights than tailgating pre-race? Richmond International Raceway is home to one of the best tailgating scenes in NASCAR, so get here early, set up the tent, tables and chairs, fire up the grill, get out the coolers and have fun! Tailgating is limited to the area directly in front of, or behind, your vehicle and cannot take up other parking spaces. Also, outdoor fire pits and campfires are not allowed. Click here for tailgating details.
