Track Kicks Off 5th Annual Campaign to Benefit Central VA Foodbank and Marine Toys for Tots

For the fifth consecutive year, Richmond International Raceway will team up with two great organizations to help support those who are less fortunate throughout the Greater Richmond Metropolitan community. Everyone is encouraged to help the Richmond International Raceway staff assist the Central Virginia Foodbank and the Marine Toys for Tots program November 16 through December 18 by donating food items and toys during this upcoming holiday season.

Richmond International Raceway to Host Sixth Annual Community Tree Lighting December 1
Doug Fritz, president of Richmond International Raceway, would like to invite any and all to join him and his staff for the sixth annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. A festive way to kick off the holiday season, the ceremony features an illumination of the raceway’s holiday tree, music and fun for the entire family.

Chase Update: Johnson Closing in on Historic Fourth-Straight Championship with Texas Up Next
Following a sixth-place finish after the late-race carnage at Talladega, Jimmie Johnson padded his points lead in the quest for a record fourth consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title. With three races remaining in the Chase, it looks like only a Texas-sized problem would keep Johnson from becoming the first driver to four-peat.

Chase Update: Hamlin Wins at Martinsville; Talladega Looms for Championship Contenders
One week after an old-school slugfest at the Chase’s shortest track, Martinsville Speedway, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series playoffs resume at Talladega Superspeedway, the biggest and fastest circuit in the 10-race slate. Talladega Superspeedway is the most unpredictable of the Chase races. No lead is safe coming into Sunday’s event. No lead is ever safe coming into Talladega.
