Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti, Danica Patrick, Marco Andretti, Sam Hornish Jr., Helio Castroneves, Dan Wheldon...those are just a few of the stars of the IndyCar Series who will compete "under the lights" this Friday and Saturday. Last year, 2006 Indianapolis 500 winner and series champion Hornish Jr. held off the competition to claim his second checkered flag at Richmond International Raceway. Rookie sensation Marco Andretti--son of open-wheel great Michael Andretti and grandson of racing legend Mario Andretti--earned a fourth-place finish, wowing the crowd with his impressive run at one of the toughest tracks on the circuit. The past two IndyCar Series seasons have featured rookies who burst on the scene with spectacular debuts—Patrick brought on Danica Mania in 2005 and Andretti started Marco Mania in 2006. Who will capture the hearts of IndyCar Series fans this year?

The fun starts on Friday, June 29 with NBC12 Day, featuring pole qualifying for the SunTrust Indy Challenge Presented by XM, followed by the USAC National Sprint Car Series race. Additionally, the IndyCar Series drivers will hold an autograph session, which is open to all Friday night ticket holders. Tickets for Friday night's events are only $15.

The weekend continues on Saturday, June 30 with the SunTrust Indy Challenge Presented by XM IndyCar Series race, preceded by the USAC Silver Crown Series 100 race.
