Dan Wheldon, fastest in first practice session

Topping the speed chart for today's first IndyCar Series® practice session was Dan Wheldon, lapping the ¾ mile circuit in 15.6902 seconds, (172.082 mph).  Wheldon bested Marco Andretti (15.7048 seconds, 171.922 mph) and Sam Hornish Jr. (15.7055 seconds, 171.914 mph.)  Tony Kanaan was .0003 seconds behind Honish. Defending Indy 500 champion Dario Franchitti rounded out the top five.  IndyCar sensation Danica Patrick was 7^th quickest, with Sarah Fisher and Milka Duno in 17^th and 19^th respectively.

Indy Car qualifying for tomorrow's SunTrust Indy Challenge Presented by XM race will take place today at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now for Saturday night's SunTrust Indy Challenge Presented by XM IndyCar Series race at Richmond International Raceway. Saturday night's ticket includes a seat for the USAC Silver Crown Series 100 race. Tickets are $35 (reserved) and $30 (general admission).
