Evernham, Mayfield, Barker, Fritz to Visit Party Zone

NASCAR owner Ray Evernham, NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield, NASCAR crew chief "Bootie" Barker and track president Doug Fritz will all make appearances at the Party Zone fan hospitality area at Richmond International Raceway on Friday, September 7, prior to the Emerson Radio 250 NASCAR Busch Series race.

Admission to the Party Zone includes:

After winning three championships as crew chief for Jeff Gordon, Evernham broke away and started his own race team in 2000, which has competed in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series full-time since 2001. In 2007, Gillett Evernham Motorsports fields cars for the No. 9 of Kasey Kahne, No. 19 of Elliott Sadler and the No. 10 of Scott Riggs. His team has 13 wins since 2001, including a series leading six by Kahne in 2006.

Mayfield, who drives for Bill Davis Racing, has been in NASCAR since 1993.  One of his most thrilling victories came at Richmond International Raceway in 2004.  By taking the checkered flag at the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, Mayfield raced his way into the inaugural Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup.

Barker, a Virginia native, is in his third year as a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series crew chief.  Currently heading up the No. 70 Yellow Transportation Chevrolet, Barker began his crew chief career in 2003 with Dave Blaney.

Fritz has held the position of Richmond International Raceway president since 1999 after parent company International Speedway Corporation purchased the 3/4-mile track.  A graduate of Virginia Tech and a Virginia native, Fritz previously worked in NASCAR's marketing department before moving over to ISC.
